Computer chips are made up of bits. A zero or a one indicates the off position. These are like tiny switches, where the on status represents the on position. Each app you use, the website you visit, and the photograph you take are ultimately composed of millions of these bits.


What is quantum computing?

Quantum computing uses the physics of subatomic particles. The unit of quantum information is the bit. Each bit is represented as a quantum of a specific property, such as spin, charge, polarization, and more. 

If the bit has flipped over, the system is in a superposition. This means that both states are possible, and each can be true, or both can be false. Quantum computers could revolutionize the future. When it comes to computers, time is money. 

And money is time. As it turns out, the time it takes to process information using a computer chip is faster than the time. It takes to replicate that information on a memory chip.
