The term Cutting Edge Technology refers to technological devices, techniques and achievements that utilize the most recent and most rigorous IT innovations, as well as technology at the frontier of knowledge.

Digital elements are added to a live view using the camera on a smartphone in augmented Reality (AR). Snapchat lenses and Pokemon Go are examples of Augmented Reality experiences. 

A Virtual Reality (VR) experience implies complete isolation from the physical world. In virtual reality devices like the HTC Vive, the Oculus Rift, and Google Cardboard, users can experience a variety of real-world and imagined environments. For instance, they can view penguins squawking or view a dragon flying.

The concept of  Virtual Reality (VR) involves the interaction of a person with an artificial three-dimensional environment via electronic devices, such as special goggles with a screen or gloves fitted with sensors.

VR devices like HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, or Google Cardboard require an external setup, meaning that users need to carry these devices cumbersome and isolating. 

These devices also provide only a partial view of the surroundings, limiting what can be explored. In contrast, mixed reality (MR) devices like Microsoft Hololens give a far more immersive experience because of the ability to see and interact with the physical environment through a digital projection. 

Mixed Reality Mixed reality devices, such as Microsoft Hololens, work by overlaying digital elements onto a user's environment, allowing them to see and interact with virtual elements in real-time. This can enhance the user experience by using VR devices to replace the headset and its contents.


Augmented Reality

The term Augmented Reality (AR) refers to a version of the physical world that is enhanced by digital visuals, sound, or other sensory stimulation delivered through technology. Mobile computing and business applications, in particular, have grown in popularity as a result.

Specific settings can be made to appear virtual. For example, house numbers can be overlayed on the street view, or directions can be drawn into your surroundings as you walk. 

The idea of AR dated back to the 1950s and was first used to create computer-generated images and simple line drawings. In 1984, real-world objects were superimposed onto computer graphics and maps, forming a projected view of a 3-D, space-like world. 

Virtual Reality (VR) With VR, users are immersed in a fully computer-generated environment. Some examples of VR devices include the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Google Cardboard. 

VR headsets like these can produce an entirely immersive, three-dimensional experience. Your actual vision is restricted to the dimensions of your head's width and the width of the room you are in.

Differences Between VR and AR

Advantages of VR over AR Exposure to fake content such as that found on cat videos or viral videos or those which don't lend well to an interactive experience can be minimized. 

In VR, multiplayer gaming can allow multiple people to share the same experience. With VR, there is no need to interact with a screen and, thus, no time constraints. Disadvantages of VR over AR Users may experience nausea and dizziness, which can make the experience less pleasant. 

There is a possibility of eye strain. People may become disoriented in VR. In AR, users can see elements in their actual surroundings, including people and objects. With AR, users can fully interact with what is in front of them, such as reading and sharing information from a smartphone.
